Wesley Mussio is the owner of the Grand Junction River Hawks. He has been involved in junior hockey in North America for well over a decade. Mr. Mussio owned the Delta Ice Hawks of the Pacific Junior Hockey League (PJHL) Junior A for 2 seasons before moving on to the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) Junior A for 5 seasons owning the Nanaimo Clippers. In 2023, Mr. Mussio founded the Rock Springs Grizzlies of the NCDC.
Previously, Mr. Mussio was the President and Vice president of the Burnaby Winter Club (BWC) for 5 years. The BWC is considered one of the top minor hockey programs in North America. He ran several spring hockey programs and helped coach several teams that represented Canada on the World Stage.
In his other life, Mr. Mussio is a lawyer and managing partner at Mussio Goodman, a national law firm in Canada. He is the co-owner of Backroad Mapbooks, a national outdoor publishing company. He is also the owner of several other companies in Canada and the USA in the technology sector.
Darren Naylor has over 20 years of coaching experience at the Junior A Hockey level. Most recently, serving as the Head Coach and General Manager for the Nanaimo Clippers in the BCHL, where he amassed a .665 winning percentage over several seasons. With a track record of placing hundreds of players into the NCAA, U Sports, and DIII programs, while also coaching several current NHL players. Darren is looking forward to the River Hawks first season in the NCDC and vastly improving on and off the ice. Grand Junction has been extremely welcoming to the team, with a billet program that's top in Jr Hockey in North America. The River Hawks are fortunate to have the Ownership of Wes Mussio who has helped hundreds of young hockey players continue their hockey playing while attaining a University degree.
