Darren Naylor has over 20 years of coaching experience at the Junior A Hockey level. Most recently, serving as the Head Coach and General Manager for the Nanaimo Clippers in the BCHL, where he amassed a .665 winning percentage over several seasons. With a track record of placing hundreds of players into the NCAA, U Sports, and DIII programs, while also coaching several current NHL players. Darren is looking forward to the River Hawks first season in the NCDC and vastly improving on and off the ice. Grand Junction has been extremely welcoming to the team, with a billet program that's top in Jr Hockey in North America. The River Hawks are fortunate to have the Ownership of Wes Mussio who has helped hundreds of young hockey players continue their hockey playing while attaining a University degree.

A native of San Diego, California, David played hockey collegiately at Weber State University before embarking on a brief career as a professional player both in North America and Europe, before eventually transitioning to the business side of hockey, where he has worked for the past seventeen at the professional level, and four years in team management at the junior level. During the past four seasons as General manager of the Vernal Oilers at the USPHL Premier level, David has helped the Oilers win Northwest Division championships in 2023 and 2024, setting multiple USPHL records in the process. More importantly, the Oilers are responsible for producing twelve tier II advancements, twenty-nine college commitments to both American and Canadian Universities, and thirteen professional contracts both in North America and Europe during David’s tenure at the tier III level.
